A new C.S. Lewis?
Written by Dave Schnitter

Tim Keller is the Senior Pastor of Redeemer Presbyterian Church in downtown New York City. Undoubtly, he is one of the important Christian leaders of the 21st century. His pioneer thinking in urban church planting as well as in the missional church movement will be remembered and valued in the years to come. Keller's new apologetic book "The Reason For God" has already earned some attention, with US-Magazine Newsweek trumpeting him as "a C. S. Lewis for the 21st century, a high-profile Christian apologist who can make orthodox belief not just palatable but necessary." Keller has been quick to deflect the C.S. Lewis comparisons, but the fact that he and Lewis can be mentioned in the same sentence is saying quite a bit, I think.

I urge the readers of d-sharp.eu to get a hold of this book. I personally think it's the most important book I have read as it deals with the questions of people in the 21st century: "Why does God allow suffering?", "How could a loving God send people to hell?", "Why isn't Christianity more inclusive?", "How can one religion be 'right' and the others 'wrong'?, "Why have so many wars been fought in the name of God?"... Not only are these questions addressed (we had that before), but finally someone is giving profound and thought-through answers which will help us to believe in an age of doubt. If we want to communicate the gospel to a sceptic, pluralistic society, we better prepare to have some answers ready. "The Reason For God" is a great tool for your ministry and it will certainly provoke you to battle with some of the issues that the people who find it hard to believe struggle with. Last year, Tim Keller presented his book at Google's Mountain View Headquarters, California. Have a look at the video clip bellow to see what it's all about.
